The Valley City State University Women's Basketball defense was on display Friday as they knocked off visiting Trinity Bible College 78-45 to run their win streak to eight games in a row.

Trinity Bible shot the ball well in the first half, jumping out to a six to zero lead on back to back three pointers to start the game while shooting four of six from the three point line in the first half to keep within reach at halftime. However, the Vikings turned up the defensive pressure in the second half and forced 26 turnovers in the game and out rebounded the Lions 46-26 en route to the convincing victory.

Five Vikings scored at least eight points led by Stephanie Pedersen who came off the bench to score 15 on seven of ten shooting. Kelsey Hunter also came off the bench to hit double figures with 11 points.

The 19th ranked Valley City State Vikings now stands at 8-1 on the season and will go on the road next week to tip-off versus fellow Association of Independent Institution opponents Northern New Mexico College and Johnson and Wales University (CO).
