Valley City State University head women's basketball coach Jill DeVries has announced the signing of Tracee Boehmlehner of Wheaton, MN to a letter-of-intent to continue her academic and athletic career at VCSU.
'Tracee is an outstanding student-athlete and we believe she is a great addition to our program.' DeVries said. 'She has tremendous passion for the game and a high basketball IQ. She is the kind of player that wants the ball at the end of games and has proven her ability to create her own shot and find her teammates for scoring opportunities.'
Boehmlehner, a 5-foot-6 guard, was a 4-time All-Pheasant conference performer for the Wheaton-Herman-Norcross girls' basketball program garnering co-MVP honors as a junior. She averaged 17.6 points and 2.7 boards while dishing out 70 assists with 77 steals in her senior campaign for the warriors.
'We will be looking for Tracee to be a deep threat for us next season.' DeVries said. 'She has tremendous court vision and is a good passer. She's demonstrated proficiency as a three point shooter that we missed this season.'
Boehmlehner finished her career with 1464 points shooting a blistering 43.2% from beyond the arc during her career. As a senior, she made 57 of 131 attempts from three for 43.5%. She set the school record at Wheaton high school shooting 46.8% (36 of 77) from 3-point range as a freshman and finishes her career with 209 made 3-point field goals. Boehmlehner is a three sport letter-winner also competing in volleyball and track and field for the warriors.
