Vikings at a Glance:
The Vikings are in a four game set where they step away from NAIA opponents. Having lost the first two of those games versus NCAA Division II University of Minnesota Crookston and NCAA Division I North Dakota State, Valley City State will host NCAA Division III Concordia College. Wrapping up their four game non-NAIA set, the Vikings will travel to Presentation College on Wednesday to play Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD.
The Vikings will look to carry over some momentum and hot shooting from the second half of the game versus the Bison on Saturday. Valley City State outscored their Division I counterpart 45-38 in the final half of the game. Freshman Stephanie Pedersen from Mandan scored a career high 17 points, including three of three from the three point line.
Concordia College enters Monday's game with a 2-0 record on the season having beaten Guilford College (NC) and Salem College (NC) for the Peace College Tournament Championship in Raleigh, NC.
Although young, the Cobbers come to Valley City with a talented trio. Two juniors and a sophomore are leading Concordia College on the early season. Juniors Tricia Sorenson and Emily Thesing average double digit scoring with 15.5 and 12.5 points respectively, while 6'4 sophomore Alexandra Lippert averages a double double. Lippert scores 14 points per game and pulls down 11 rebounds per contest.
