Game notes: Viking Basketball plays 4 games in Denver

The Viking men's and women's basketball teams are on the road this weekend for a pair of games in Denver, Colo.

VCSU will take on Northern New Mexico on Friday afternoon, and then play Johnson & Wales on Saturday night. All games will be played at the Johnson & Wales campus in Denver.

Both VCSU teams are coming off wins over Minnesota-Morris on Jan. 4. The Viking women won 77-55 after leading 42-20 at halftime. The Viking men knocked off Morris 64-55 behind 27 points from senior Aaron Duske.

The Viking women (6-6) are looking to move above .500 for the first time this season when they play Northern New Mexico at 12 p.m. MST on Friday afternoon. Northern New Mexico enters with a 4-10 record. On Saturday at 5 p.m. MST, the VCSU women will play Johnson and Wales, which has a record of 8-10.

VCSU's men hit the road with a 4-9 record, and will take on Northern New Mexico at 2 p.m. MST Friday. Northern New Mexico enters the weekend with a 10-9 record. The Vikings then play host Johnson and Wales at 7 p.m. MST Saturday. The Johnson and Wales men have posted a 3-14 record so far this season.

Both the Johnson and Wales men's and women's teams will make a return trip to VCSU next week on Jan. 15.
