Colorado's top oustanding female athletes and contributors to women's athletics, selected by a panel of sportswriters and sportscasters from around the state, were honored by Sportswomen of Colorado at its 34th Annual Awards Banquet on Sunday, March 9th, 2008 at the Marriott Tech Center.
Amanda received the All-Around Athlete Award and was noted to be one of the best female athletes in the history of Limon High School athletics. Her athletic career in Limon was truley outstanding as she was apart of the Softball team that made it to the Final 4, 3 years in a row. The basketball team, winning 3 state titles, 2 time State Tournament MVP, and 2007 2A Player of the Year, and finally the track team that won State 2A Track Meet all 4 years. Amanda has several track relay gold medals as well.
Amanda was supported by her parents, Mark (Girls Basketball Coach) and Kathy Brown, brothers- Matt and Jason of Limon, CO, Grandparents Reuben and Dorothy Brown of Esmond ND, as well as her softball coach, Rocky Rockwell and her track coach Dave Grimes also of Limon, CO.
