Football: Vikings announce four recruits

Valley City State University head football coach Dennis McCulloch announces the addition of four student-athletes who have signed letters of intent to attend VCSU and play football for the Vikings this fall.

The new additions to the 2014 recruiting class include a pair of teammates from Devils Lake High School (N.D.), one player from Texas and one from Florida.

Austin Erickson, linebacker, and Spencer Turck, offensive lineman, are both currently seniors at Devils Lake High School where they wrapped up successful prep careers. Erickson was named All EDC and 2nd Team All State this season, along with being voted Co-Team MVP. Turck was voted the team's Outstanding Offensive Lineman and was named All EDC Honorable Mention.

David Garcia, a linebacker from Bellaire, Texas, was named 1st Team All District Defense after his senior season.

Marvin Conley, a cornerback, from Tampa, Fla., recorded 71 tackles on defense and also played wide receiver for Cocoa Beach High School.

2013: 64 tackles, 50 solo tackles, 2 INT, 2 FF, 2 FR; 1st Team All District Defense

Marvin Conley, CB, 5-10, 170 lbs, Tampa, Fla.
2013: 71 tackles, 5 FF, 4 PD, 1 defensive TD, 21 receptions, 251 yds receiving, 3 TD; Offensive MVP, Special Teams Award
