The Valley City State men's golf team finished 3rd at the Dickinson State Invitational held at Heart River Golf Course in Dickinson, ND. On Sunday, September 11th the Vikings opened the meet with a team score of 307. On Monday, September 12th they shot 319 for a two day total of 626. Jamestown College won the meet shooting a team score of 598.

Individually representing the VCSU team, Taylor Henrickson finished 2nd earning his first top-five finish of the season, Ryan Mehus finished tied for 13th, Casey Colemer finished tied for 15th, Ryan LeNoue finished tied for 18th, and Conner Paul finished 25th. 'I couldn't be more pleased with our performance' said Coach Stover. 'This was a positive step for our season and I really like our focus right now.' VCSU will resume competition on September 18 – 19, 2011. Due to flood damage at the Jamestown Country Club, the Jamestown College Invitational will be moved to Cross Roads Golf Club in Carrington, ND.
