MBB: Viking Men's Basketball Preview--Viterbo University

Vikings at a Glance: Valley City State (2-1) is coming off of a 66-50 victory over NCAA Division II University of Minnesota Crookston. The Viking Defense stifled the Golden Eagles in the second half. UM-Crookston shot only 28% from the floor in the second half including 1-7 from the three point line.

Gus Keuber, a senior transfer from Mayville State University, had a breakout game versus UMC, scoring a game high 18 points and shooting 6-9 from the floor including four of four from the three point line.

Through three games the season the Viking Men are limiting opponents to 29.2% shooting from the three point line.

The Opponent: Viterbo University, members of the Midwest Collegiate Conference (MCC), are 1-1 on the season after finishing the 2011-12 season with a 11-19 record. The V-Hawks were handed a home court defeat last season at the hands of the Vikings by a 64-59 score.

Viterbo University sports a balanced scoring attack with four players averaging double figures. Jordan Laufenberg leads the Hawks at 13.5 ppg. Laufenberg is followed by Matt Turba (12.0 ppg), Izac Sheforgen (11.5 ppg) and Cole Lewis (11.0 ppg).
