MBB: Duske, McDonald named All Conference

Valley City State's Aaron Duske and AJ McDonald were named to the North Star Athletic Association men's basketball All-Conference Team announced Tuesday by the league office.

Duske, a senior guard from Buffalo, Minn., was one of five First Team All Conference selections. He averaged 14.9 points and 7 rebounds per game this season. Duske reached 1,000 career points earlier this season, and leaves VCSU with 1,375 points, which ranks him 7th all time in school history. He scored 20 or more points in five games this season, and 19 times he reached double-figure points.

McDonald, a junior guard from Killeen, Texas, was named Second Team All Conference. The explosive point guard averaged 14.5 points and 3.6 assists per game this year. He poured in a season-high 33 points on Nov. 1 against Dordt College, and scored double figures in 23 out of 28 games. McDonald dished out a season-high eight assists on two occasions.

Under the direction of head coach Jeff Kaminsky, the Vikings finished the season with a 14-14 overall record and were third in the North Star Athletic Association standings with a 5-3 conference record. Duske is the only senior on the team.
