The Viking Harriers wrapped up their regular season schedule in Yankton, S.D. competing in the Mount Marty Invitational on Saturday as their final tune up race before the North Star/Midlands Conference Meet/National Qualifier Meet in Lawrence, Kan. on Saturday, Nov. 9.

The course was relatively flat with a couple of slight inclines at mile one and three along with the last 300m to the finish. The field consisted of fifteen schools made up of NAIA and NCAA D I and D II Institutions.

The Viking men turned in a good team effort with Richard Langdeaux leading the way as VCSU’s top Harrier with a time of 27:06 and a 42nd place finish. The big story on the men’s side was freshmen Austin Albrecht from West Fargo, N.D., stepping it up to be the team’s second runner and dropping his best time by over thirty seconds to run a 27:44 and finish 64th. Richard Wright followed Austin by two seconds with a 27:46 to place 66th.

Monica Madavi and Alexandra Cardenas were the top two VCSU women Harriers in finishing 85th (21:48) and 88th (22:01) respectively.
