The Viking Harriers traveled to Bemidji, Minn., on Sept. 6 to compete in a small meet hosted by Bemidji State University held at Greenwood Golf Course. The men raced 6000m and the women distance was 4000m over a gentle rolling course with a number of sharp turns. The heat and humidity was the main factor in both races as the weather has been unseasonably warm.

The top male Harrier for the Vikings for the second week in a row was Richard Langdeaux , finishing third with a time of 20:29 for 6000m. Richard was followed by his junior college team mate from Bakersfield College, Misael Herrera, with a time of 21:27 to finish seventh. The men had four runners in the top ten to finish second.

The women were led by freshmen Alexandra Cardenas from Newark, Calif., in sixth place with a time of 18:07 in dropping her time by over thirty seconds from the previous week for the 4000m distance.

Both the men and women will be competing at MSU Moorhead this Friday September 13. The men and women will be racing the 8km and 5km respectively for the first time this season.
