Men's Cross Country wins home meet

The Viking Harriers started the season on top Friday.

The Valley City State men's cross country team took first place at its home meet, opening the season with a team victory and two individuals in the Top 5.

The top five Viking men all finished in the Top 10, led by Richard Langdeaux in 4th and Richard Wright in 5th. Malik Jackson took 7th, Misael Herrera was 9th and Wayne Engelhard came in 10th.

Valley City scored 33 team points, narrowly edging out Concordia College which scored 35. University of Minnesota-Morris rounded out the three-team field with 52 points.

The event was held at the Valley City Country Club. High school boys and girls races and a college women's race were also held. Complete results from the meet can be found here.
