Valley City State student-athletes were among many volunteers last week at the 9th annual Ruckus at the Rec event in Valley City.

Ruckus at the Rec is a costume-filled night of carnival games and prizes for kids pre-school through 6th grade, hosted by Valley City Parks and Recreation.

Valley City State student-athletes annually volunteer for the event, interacting with the kids and their parents, and helping run the carnival games.

"It's a good way for our student-athletes to get involved with the community, and help out with a great family event," said assistant head football coach Gregg Horner.

Student-athletes from several VCSU sports teams volunteered.
